Sitting here, thinking its almost fathers day,

trying to find the right things to say.

Life time of memories start flickering by,

and i just let them play.

1993 i see my daddy and his nascar race

bet he'll be asleep by lap 23,

the intimidator man they looked alike.

1995 my first song was butterfly kisses,

then i sang him i liked & loved tim mcgraw

told my daddy i wanted him to marry me,

should have stuck it out to i found a man like Daddyyyy

living life of the 90's in the eyes of a blonde hair blue eyed girl

i looked up to my daddy , lord knows he was the best,

taught me bout flat tires and stacking hay,

manners and dinners at grandmas house

my teenage years look who taught me to drive

in those muscle cars and 4 wheel drives

the love for a duster and the growlllll of the monte carlo

slow dancing to butterfly kisses, looking at the tears in my daddys eyes

twirling with my grandpa, man i wanna stay in this memoryyyy

Grandpa left this world on Mr. walls day, should have seen what he was

trying to say

a year later and im calling my daddy to tell him its almost time,

hours on hours later, hes holding my head during the labor sickness

but his smile when he saw that little pink blanket is foreverrrrr

watching us grow and then grow a part, he was there even when the man of the house wasnt, bc hes a real man, hes a real daddy now a real man showing my boys what that really meanssss

peter pan is for the lost but God has picked me up and im listeningggg
