1. When will we be getting more information about the data from the "comprehensive review of our academic performance and campus culture"? Over a dozen faculty and staff in the Freshman Academy were just called out publicly for and inferred to be the reason for a school wide change. Why? No reason was necessary. Change happens all the time. If admin or Ed Center wants a new direction, than do it - there is no 100% right way of running a school. But there is absolutely a wrong way, so why are we publicly placing the blame on a hard-working group of colleagues?
2. How are we restoring our tradition of a unified, four-year high school experience? The freshman academy has been operational since 2004. That's 22 years out of the school's 49 years. Almost half. Tradition? It's hard to be a faculty member with 24 years at South, who raised his kid here and has taught many of my colleagues' children be told what "tradition" is from others with less than 1.
3. Why am I being coached on how to answer a survey that is designed to determine the mood/morale/working conditions of the school? I thought part of the reason for anonymity is to encourage honesty? Isn't this teaching to the test? I'm sure that I don't need help answering this survey.
