3 decades ago God sent angels to take you home.
And they took you up on high where you should be.
The words you spoke to me last came just before you passed.
About the next adventure and how we would both be free.
A new day dawned and everything felt so wrong.
And for the first time in a long time, I was in the dark alone again.
There was more meaning to your words than my young ears could hear.
You had laid out the prophecy of when we meet again my friend.
When we can dance again with you standing on my feet.
We will make alot of new memories and reminis about what we had seen.
We can talk for hours and take a nap or 2.
But this time you won't run away with me....

I know that when I close my eyes for the last and final time.
You'll be the one God sends to get me at the end of my life.
I know that I'm gonna laugh and cry as my eyes fill with your light.
And take me by the hand and say "huh, you finally did something right.
And we will walk out of here still the best of friends.
I will cry joyful tears seeing the light is back in your eyes.
Jesus will hand me back the tears I cried when this life ends.
He'll say "I saw what you did down there but don't you run away again."
And we can dance in heaven with you standing on my feet.
We can make some better memories and not care what we've seen.
We will sit and talk for days and take a nap or 2.
But this time you won't run away with me....

I'm still in this world hanging on for nothing.
This is not the place where dreams come true.
And one day you will come for me.

Making new memories and some new songs to sing.
And you will finally know how much I have missed you.
