Heard talk about a thing called slam poetry.
Don’t know for sure what it is with any degree of certainty.
My inspiration to poetry was from being slamed violently.
Snowboarding is a sport no real man can support.
But heathens and rascals demand it’s a sport.
However, reasonable men confirm it’s reason for tort.
Skiing on the other hand is a gentlemans sport.
Where one isn’t required to make their body contort.
Obviously, skiing’s a sport meant for the biped sort.
Cross country skiing is more straightforward than most.
These skiers burn the most calories, let’s give them a toast.
VO2 maxed, they’re the ones who can boast.
Ski jumpers are fliers leaping into thin air.
They start from the highest point way up there.
When they leap from the in-run they all say a prayer.
The biathletes, now thats a group that’s hardcore.
Watching the wind flags and adjusting their sights to score.
Shooting clean these skiers are ready for war!
Ski-Mo is a popular new sport of sorts.
Beacons, skins, skis, and crampons they sport.
They cross mountains and valleys and may need a passport.
When their competitors are in trouble they must be a good sport.
Telemark on the other hand is a conundrum of woes.
The boots come with a bellows and two choices of toes.
The heels are free so they must balance like a pro on their tiptoes.
The clothes for Telemark are even more mysterious.
This many decisions make me delirious!
Do I dress freeride, grunge, or uphill hard-core. This question is serious!
Can snow sliders agree it’s better one way?
For me, I just know next time, I’ll be skiing so I can drive away at the end of the day.
The last question to ask is, will it be liquor, or beer, or Pinot Vino today?
