Barbie Blanket Picnic

Our front lawn, a small and grassy stage,
Where a giant dog, Teddy, turned life's page. Big as could be, a furry friend so true,
Sharing all our days, in everything we'd do.

On a soft pink Barbie blanket spread,
My brother and I, a picnic fed. Juice boxes on the grass, or cookies sweet, a simple, treasured, front-yard treat. Oh, those simple moments, a perfect summer view, on that Barbie blanket, just me and you.

Next door, a sweet grandma and grandpa lived, whose visiting granddaughters, joy freely gived. One my age, one his, a perfect match for play, we didn't need a plan, just hours to fill the day.
