Two months later

Two months ago, I couldn’t sleep. Your name was heavy on my chest. Every street still sounded like you every memory felt like a test. I kept my phone on silent loud waiting for a sign from you, but the silence started talking back. Said there’s better things to do I thought losing you meant losing me, but I found myself in the cracks all the love I begged you for I finally gave it back two months later I can breathe again. I see it clear. I see the truth you weren’t wrong. you weren’t right you just weren’t what I needed to. I don’t hate you. I don’t miss you. I just wish you well from afar cause letting you go showed me I can do better than we were. I stopped rewriting every fight stop blaming all my flaws stop shrinking just to fit your world stop breaking my own laws. I laugh a little louder. Now I stand a little taller too funny how I lost myself just trying to hold onto you. I was holding onto maybes while you were already gone. Turns out closure isn’t something you give. It’s something I move on. Two months later I’m OK again not pretending not confused. I loved hard. I stay true. That’s nothing I should ever lose. I don’t need you to choose me. I choose myself that’s new cause walking away reminding me. I can do better than you if love is meant to lift you up. why did I feel so small if that was almost everything then this is better after all I won’t apologize for growing or outgrowing what we were sometimes the best thing love can do is teach you what you deserve two months later I’m at peace tonight no tears left to hide. You were a lesson not a loss just the chapter in my life. I don’t need closure from your lips. I don’t need you to see my worth I finally know without a doubt I can do better and I deserve better first so here’s two endings that save us in the strength. We never knew two months later.
