Animal magnetism claims a power
Separate from God's control.
But divine Mind is the only power;
Spirit governs every soul.
God alone is Life eternal;
Truth alone is always real.
Every claim of evil weakens
When God's law we truly feel.

(Verse 2)
Evil never has a substance,
Never has a law or throne.
It is but a false suggestion,
Not a power of its own.
Fear and sin, disease and hatred,
Cannot come from God above.
They dissolve before the Science
Of eternal Truth and Love.

(Verse 3)
There is but one Mind forever,
One attraction, Spirit's grace.
No false will can rule another;
God alone holds every place.
Human will and mesmerism
Cannot govern God's own man.
Man reflects the one creator,
Safe within Love's perfect plan.

(Verse 4)
Christ uncovers every falsehood;
Truth destroys illusion's claim.
Evil falls before God's goodness;
Light removes the darkest shame.
As we trust divine direction,
Freedom grows from day to day.
Science breaks the chains of error,
Leading all to Life's true way.

(Reflection
Chapter 5 teaches that animal magnetism, mesmerism, and hypnotism have no divine authority or scientific foundation. Their seeming influence rests on false belief rather than God's power. There is only one real Mind—God, who governs all that is real, harmonious, and eternal. As spiritual understanding increases, the claims of evil lose their apparent power, and man is seen as forever governed by divine Love and Truth.)
