Good morning. It's remarkably cooler today - 18c, and a fresh autumn day, at last. The bloke around the corner is washing his car. He'll wear the paint off at this rate; it's meticulously washed and polished each week. He could practise on mine if he needs the exercise. I don't mind.

Two bin chickens are watching the local fitness gurus do their squat session outside Suncorp Stadium, and the Caxton has been fully hosed out after last night footy match. Life slowly inches towards longer nights, day by day, each flash of the lower morning sun in my eyes, tells me winter is coming.
