during the war people started to see
families escaping just tryna be free
humanitarian ties made australia act
couldn’t ignore all the pain and facts

vietnamese migrants came over by sea
searchin for safety, a chance to be free
and through the sources it’s clear to see
the country changed with diversity

from fear and division, closed off minds
to multicultural ways over time
not everybody agreed, still tension remained
but australia’s attitude definitely changed
